IF MY HEART COULD SPEAK
If my heart could speak a melody
Even the suffering around the world
Would be stifled ‘til the song is done
Late night cries would not be heard
Its notes would rhyme with
PEACE, be still
Its chords would dance aloud
To a rhythm only we two could share
Though encircled by a crowd
Of those who can only witness our love
Who can only see with their eyes
And hear with longing ears
What they wish they could deny
That what we have is real
To us
Something to be envied
For they’ll never reach the depth of us
In their now, their dreams, or their pretending
If my heart could only speak
Words it would not say
In its rhythm alone
Is your house, your home
Love me…
I Love You
Always
